The annual rate of $569 is the lowest among 54 cities in the state, according to consumer site ValuePenguin.com. Bellingham ($574), Pullman ($583), Wenatchee ($586) and Ellensburg ($588) were other cities with the lowest rates. Who pays the most? Residents of Lakewood pay $907 a year, followed by Tukwila ($876), Federal Way ($869), University Place and Auburn (both $862). Seattle residents pay an average of $847 a year.
ValuePenguin surveyed cities around the state for a sample of insurance rates. They were based on a 30-year-old single male driving a Toyota Camry about 15,000 miles a year who has good credit and no accidents. It got quotes from five national companies to determine the average rates.
